Hanna Anais Hunt
Hanna was born in the sleepy wizarding village of Caerphilly (Gwent) in the South of Wales to a proud metal-charming wizard named Frederick and a capable witchly circus performer named Liselotte on a torrid hot evening in June. Her childhood was remarkably average, or as average as any witches childhood would be- spent levitating worms and tossing garden gnomes down the well. Mostly, and more importantly, it was spent with her siblings, being the middle child of three, there was seldom a day spent alone. With an elder sister to look up to, Hanna followed in the footsteps of Brigitte with much ardor despite only being two years her elder. During this time she was enamored and wanted to be just like her big sister, much to her younger brothers disdain who often felt left out of the two girls antics. Hanna and Brigitte were inseparable, that is, until the day Brigitte was accepted into Hogwarts.Despite that day being inevitable, it still broke her heart all the same as the young redhead pined for the day where the two girls would be reunited once again, when her wax-sealed letter would be delivered at their doorstep, much like Brigitte’s before. They would be in the same house and share each others secrets just like the old days. As Brigitte wrote to Hanna about all the exciting milestones of her first year at Hogwarts, Hanna was filled with a mixture of both envy and excitement for the day she, too, stepped onto the train from that funny little platform. It simply could not come soon enough.Of course, as that first school year progressed for Brigitte, the letters became more and more infrequent, and suddenly, stopped altogether. The little tidbits of information she learned from then forward of her sister simply came from small talk between her parents. Brigitte excelled in potions and defense against the dark arts and got along swimmingly with her Slytherin housemates. When Brigitte did finally return for summer break Hanna knew immediately something had changed about her sister, or rather, her relationship with her sister. Brigitte earned the praise of her parents who frequently boasted about Brigitte's bright future and the pride she would bring to their family. With this praise Brigitte's ego grew- and slowly, Hanna and her younger brother Rémy seemed to fall into the shadows of her over zealous family. The next year proved to be a difficult time for both herself and Rémy. Quietly the once tight-knit family seemed to unravel at the seams, the attention which Brigitte brought to the name Hunt introduced her parents to a new group of friends, the wealthier and more elite witches and wizards. Still, Hanna clung to the idea of joining her sister at Hogwarts during this time, the very smallest glimmer of hope that maybe Hanna, too, would be accepted into this circle of elite. When the day did finally come where the Sorting Hat was lain atop her head, she begged and pleaded to be put into Slytherin. Much to her dismay, like fate had played some sort of cruel joke on Hanna, the sorting hat screeched out a different house. The wrong house. It was Gryffindor. At first Hanna was devastated and fell into a deep depression that not even the thrill of magic could heave her out of. She did poorly in school, slept away her afternoons and cried during the late evenings when her fellow Gryffindor dorm mates were asleep. During this time she wrote to Rémy, vehemently vowing she would not abandon her brother like Brigitte had done to her. Hanna, however, still remained distant from both her parents and Brigitte.Learning to be herself was something that took time. Over her years at Hogwarts the wound of betrayal slowly healed, her grades rose, and Hanna learned that she, too, could be just as accomplished as her sister Brigitte, but in her own way. Hanna proved to be a talented witch with powerful magical ability that simply needed to be nurtured over time. During this time Hanna bonded with her housemates and learned that being a Gryffindor was not something to be ashamed of, and was in fact the most honorable house of them all.Hanna, like her house, is as fierce and passionate as a sixteen year old girl can get. Most people would describe her as being 'intense' because nothing she does is ever done partially- it's either all or nothing. The world is in black and white. There is good and evil, and Hanna is adamantly convinced she is on the good guy's side. Amongst her peers she is friendly and social, thriving off of the compliments and affections of her housemates. Occasionally her pride or stubbornness and melodrama proves to hamper her ability to charm, but for the most part she is well-liked.
LikesThe sun, the outdoors, summertime and the smell of suntan lotion and freshly ripe peaches. Hanna is a child of the sun, even from her youngest years she’s reveled in the warmer seasons, feeling most viable during these times. Sunflowers and running barefoot through tall grass.Being busy, physical activity, staying active. Hanna has taken on a number of extracurricular activities. She’s the girl who likes to believe she can do it all- from sports to academics, and can be especially competitive amongst her peers. This, of course, includes Quidditch, and she avidly supports her favorite hometown team, the Caerphilly Catapults.Magic- much like her Mother and sister before her, Hanna has proven to be an adept witch herself. Although sometimes volatile and fluctuating in temperament, Hanna works very hard to harness her own talents and prove herself competent. Her little brother Rémy whom she cares after with the ferocity of a true lioness in her prime.Extra sweet salted caramel frappe's. The one thing from the muggle world that excites her.DislikesMuggle culture. To put it frankly, she finds muggle life incredibly boring and mundane. Having grown up in a pureblood wizarding family and a wizard village, she has always had the luxury of magic in her life. Living without it is simply something she cannot wrap her head around.Losing. Hanna is about as sore of a loser as you can get. She has an ego and pride which is easily bruised, and losing is one of those things that will send this girl into a temper tantrum.
